Each comedy murder mystery is written and hosted by “The Director,” Danielle Jordan.
Murder Mysteries work best over dinner because of timing. Or, we could have a luncheon and have the murder occur at the stroke of noon.
Before dinner is served, the beginning of the murder mystery is announced and the parts are handed out. This leaves people time to eat and for the people playing characters time to review their script. Usually 15 people are chosen to play parts.
Are there props? Of course! Props such as a King’s crown or a red feather boa instantly transform audience members into actors.
The “play” begins as soon as the dinner plates are cleared. The performance takes about 45 minutes to 1 hour. Then an intermission is given to tally the winners and the desserts and coffee are served. It concludes with the final act of revealing who is the murderer, the motive and announcing the winners and the Best Actor. Everyone has a great time.
Figure 2 hours for the meal and mystery. (Depends on the dinner length and how long the death scene takes.)
Warning: You will hear large amounts of laughter coming from the room. A camera is a must!
